Recipe for Success

Success is commonly defined as:

1. The accomplishment of an aim or purpose.

2. The attainment of popularity or profit.

This definition falls short of meaningful success. It’s close, but it is missing one key element: personal fulfillment.

I’ve met many people, and grew up watching family members, who worked very hard in jobs and positions that gave them little personal fulfillment. Even when they accomplished their aim and attained profit for it, they didn’t feel successful. Something was still missing.

Many of us spend over 2,000 hours a year in positions we don’t enjoy. Over a lifetime, that’s typically more than 100k hours! You owe it to yourself to take a deep look at how you’re spending this enormous investment.

How do you define success? Write your own description, here’s mine:

Success:

1. The accomplishment of a heart centered, passionate aim or purpose (which may or may not lead to the attainment of popularity) that generates profit allowing my continued growth and the expression of my highest potential.

What’s your definition of success? What are you doing to bring it to life?
